Dynamis - Windurst

Well I finally got to go on my very first Dynamis run, and lucky me it was the hardest Dynamis there is: Dynamis - Windurst.

I was so nervous the whole day waiting, even though I was just gonna back up heal and kite I still didn't know what I was doing. According to a few friends Dynamis is like a major death zone for groups cause everyone dies several times. I didn't even understand what the party leader meant by kiting. So I was placed in the linkshell leaders party which apparently was called the tank party cause there were three more Paladins in the group. I was to watch and learn for the first bit then start kiting as soon as the leader gave the word.

The fighting in the area was chaotic, I actually suffered R0 a couple of times cause so much was going on. The area was like a campaign battle or besieged, more than one party could enter and fight the montsers there. The yagudo's I was cause it was Windurst there are always Yagudo's there. What I wasn't expecting were the stone yagudo's, the yagudo's with wyverns, and the yagudo avatars.

The area in Windurst Walls is not easy to fight in, due to its narrow paths and little fighting space, the whole group wiped out at least 3 times. But the leader made sure that everyone worked together and we ended up getting the win. The party leader said that was the first time they had gotten the win there, which made it even more special for me cause it was my first run. I had though the mega boss was gonna be a giant yagudo, but it was a giant yagudo statue.

I still had alot of fun and I got to meet alot of new people, I look forward to the next dynamis we go too. I actually kind of hope next time I get a relic item, though that may take a few runs, I will see if I can lot on the relic shield if it drops. Next week run will be the Dynamis - San d'Oria and that one will involve orcs.

Also I want to thank my friend Arlin for letting me borrow his Vermillion cloak for this run, it actually helped out alot and I really liked the way it looked. I'm gonna start saving up for my own Vermillion cloak. I may even try getting one crafted by my friend Zerayla so that way she can sign it.

Rank 5 Missions

With the help Janko, Vepion, and Arlin the four of us were able to beat the Rank 5 Missions. The group set up was Janko BLU/NIN, Vepion PUP/WAR, Arlin RDM/WHM, and myself as PLD/WAR. Both fights were fun and it was interesting cause I had heard that I would need a full party to beat the 5-1 Mission. That mission got a little close for comfort a couple of times due to all of the skeletons, but we had brought a bunch of potions and stuff before doing the fight so we had no problems.

Castle Zavhal was really interesting, the insides were creepy and there were a ton of beastmen and demons roaming the halls. But once we had made it to the top the scenery was incredible, Janko said I wouldn't get to see that area alot so I took a couple of shots before the fight cause I thought it looked really cool.

The fight with the Shadow Lord was actually really easy, Janko and Vepion had to control themselves just a little for me to get some screen shots. But it was still alot of fun getting to beat the Shadow Lord, I do wonder if I will get to fight him in the past as well.

After finishing off the Shadow Lord I got the reward that I had been looking forward too, I got Rank 6 for my home nation of Windurst. Now I just need to get level 65 to start doing Dynamis runs with my Dynamis linkshell.

Campaign + Moblin Maze Mongers = Good times =3

Ok since I got Paladin up to 61 I have been trying out the campaign battles in the past Vana'diel, and they are a blast. Not only is a great way to get easy experiance, but I have seen NPC's that I met while in the present. I have also seen and fought with some NPC that I had never seen before. The one that really got my attentention was this elvaan girl who turned into a huge dragon. She was standing right behind me when she changed and boy did it startle me.

Campaign is also alot of fun when I do it with friends, I got do one with my friends Zerayla, Xean, Vepion, and Zeo who are all part of the linkshell I'm in. Vepion came one time as a Bard then changed to his favorite job which is Puppetmaster. When I first saw his puppet I thought it was both odd and a little creepy, but now I think its really cute and both of them make a good team.

My friend Janko and I have been doing this thing called Moblin Maze Mongers, he has been trying to get points and collect certain rune's to do one maze where he has a chance at a really cool sword. He asked me if I wanted to help him out and I agreed with pleasure, I had tried it out once when I first started out with Vepion and Janko which was alot of fun. He and I do a run once a night or every other night so that we can collect the marbles he needs and try to get the rune he wants. We take turns going as a level 1 job so that way the other can one hit the monsters in the maze.

Lyea's Achievements

Ok so far I have gotten a few things from a couple of NM's, I got the Bounding Boots from Leaping Lizzy on the first drop thanks to Standpoint. He was really nice to come camp Lizzy with me cause there were a few counter campers and I didn't have a way to track the place holders. The other NM was my arch foe, Valkurm Emperor, I camped him several times with Xean and we got the claim alot but the fly would not drop the Empress Hairpin that I really needed for Thief. I was to the point of just planning a BCNM run with some linkshell friends when Soulstar, his wife Drimergirl, and Standpoint came and camped the Emperor with me. I guess I just needed Soulstar uber Thief and Standpoint's luck to get it cause after three attempts the fly dropped the hairpin and I was so happy I almost fell out of my chair laughing and nearly cried too.

I got this really cool item from a Easter event for my Mog House, it was actually the first piece f furniture I ever really got so its really special to me. The thing is called a Egg Buffet and it is huge, the thing is even taller than my friend Vepion. Took a while to get it cause I had to get a bunch of eggs to spell out words for the event and I didn't want to pay the bazaar price's alot of people charged. So I ended up talking to the moogle that did the event once every hour till I got everything I needed to get the buffet.

I found a new area that is really pretty at certain times of the day, on my way to finish up the last Paladin Artifact quest I took a route that was a little shorter, I went through Carpenter's Landing. While waiting on the barge to the dock the sun was rising in the background and alot of swans started flying by. It was so pretty that I had to get a screen shot for my album. I may end up going back for another one cause I wasn't in full Artifact gear and it looked a little silly wearing mainly artifact gear except for the body.

Vepion who is one of my best friends in the game is also a really good artist and graphic's expert. He can do alot of cool stuff with image's and he is a really funny guy. He even drew a picture of my character which I use for a avatar on the linkshell's forums and he even did a image of my character in a new piece of gear that just came out. Vepion is always making me laugh and thanks to him I am also getting alot more confident in myself as a adventurer.

Lyea Grows Stronger

Ok since I first started I thought the only job I would really want to level would be Thief, but after some words of encouragement and alot of research I decided to give Paladin a try. I had no idea that not only would I have alot of fun on the job, but that I would also be really good at it. According to a few of my friends I am a natural, being able to melee and heal myself at the same time is alot of fun and thanks to the knowledge I got as a Thief I am also able to control the hate in a party better.

I got all of the Artifact Armor for Paladin and joined the San d'Orian force's in the past so now I am growing more and more as a adventurer. I have gotten up to level 61 on Paladin and I am looking forward to my first time doing a Dynamis run.

Vepion in my linkshell says I am not allowed to say that I am unlucky. Due to the fact I have gotten gear that alot of people don't get till after their second level 75 job and that I am able to find stuff in bazaars at cheaper price's.

I got to help out with a big NM fight even though all I did was cast Flash and a couple of Holy's and Banish II's when the thing was almost dead. My friend Chisei had been camping this NM for 2 days straight and a few of the linkshell members were going to help him. I got to go cause I had the Gold beastmen coin they needed to get past a door and cause I wanted to help. It was alot of fun and I was so happy for Chisei that he finally got his Joyeuse that I actually cried a little. He even did a tarutaru dance to celebrate, think I won't punt him for a while.

I still don't have access to all of the area's in the game, but I am still having fun and exploring the world of Vana'diel. I am hoping to get to fight more NM's and gather more gear. I know that I will be taking Paladin and Thief to 75 first, but the job after that I can't decide. I may give another melee job a try or even go the mage route, I know that it would make Zerayla thrilled to be on Paladin more if there was another Red Mage in the Linkshell. I have also thought about going Puppetmaster, with Janko and Vepion as my teachers I know that it will be alot of fun.

Lyea Goes Paladin

Ok since I last posted I have taken up the Paladin job which has been about 2 to 3 weeks. I am now level 50 and have done two of the artifacts quests. I have been working hard in the linkshell I am a member of, Spirit of the Wolf, I still can't do alot with them but I am still having fun with them.

Being a Paladin is actually alot of fun cause not only can I melee, but I feel like I am actually protecting my fellow party members. I can also keep myself alive with white magic though I am only able to learn a total of seventeen spells.

My NPC is now level 33 and is able to help me out when I solo cause I have him as a healer type.

As you can see I chose an elvaan type and he is so cool. I take him hunting at least once a day so that he can get experiance and that I can farm.

I am going to an area with him later to help him out for a quest.

I got to pary in the past for the first time ever and it was a pain cause the mobs were really hard. We weren't able to get chains cause I was taking alot of damage and used up MP everytime, as well as the healers MP.

So far my favorite place to go just for the scenery would have to be Qufim Island cause I get to see aurora's. I have yet to see all of the area's, but getting to see those always make me happy.

Lyea the Mithra: Starting out

Ok its been about six weeks since I started Final Fantasy XI and I have gotten alot done thanks to the help from the great friends I have made in the linkshell and in the game. I still have a long ways to go before I can be considered one of the best in the game like some of the people I know, but I am working hard at it.

So far I have gotten Rank 5 in my city of Windurst, level 45 on Thief, 37 on Ninja, and soon will have Warrior up to 37. After which I will unlock and begin leveling Paladin, according to some of the guys in the linkshell I would actually make a really good Paladin plus I would get to 75 faster with it.

I have gotten my cooking skill up to level 2 and I have also gotten into fishing, though it can be slow some times to fish. My mog house is also coming along pretty well.

I have also gotten my NPC and seen a GM up close, I have gotten all of the teleport crystals except the one's in the past and I have been working on gathering the outpost warps. The BCNM fight for my NPC was funny cause I ended seeing two Carrior Dragons due too lag.
